Hmmm, well it appears to be that day of the year again. You know, one of those 'revelation days' where your supposed to be instantly a little bit more mature, and hopefully smarter. Well looking back at last year, I guess I can, for a change, finally proudly, for the very first time, say that I am. That I have finally grown.
I've learned quite alot within the past year, including PHP, Open Source, Linux, etc. Also I guess you can say that I've matured alot more, supporting myself ( somewhat ). So topping this list of achievements for next year would be even harder. But hey, its a goal/challenge right?
To those of you who haven't figured it out, even with all this reminicing you'd think you'd get it, well a few days ago was my birthday ( 24th ). My birthday started out alright, except for the part where my mom woke me up at 9am to watch over my sister. What a great way to treat the birthday boy. But the trouble didn't end just there, starting at around 12, I got the most unexpected present of the day. A grain of sand stuck in my eye. Got it out around 6pm, so it was quite a pain in the ass for most of the day. My dad simply ignored it, man...very very irritating.
Finally finishing up the MyOSS Magazine article, and it comes off at a whomping ten pages, all detailed in a OpenOffice file taking up over a meg of space. Man I have to say, that was one lengthy article, and I am impressed that I was able to stretch the little meager notes that I had into something so big. With the article finished, I can finally begin on the nomination for the ICT Excellence award. Hopefully I actually do this on time, and before the deadline is due. Oh yeah, some bad news people, I recently, um...lost my little notebook I used to take down notes for the MyOSS July Meetup. So umm...yeah. *DOH*
Note of word: Make sure you save your blog post before opening a link in another program, that's right...everything from here on is fresh material, stupid Firefox, should have opened it in a new tab...grrr
On saturday I was able to get alot of things out of the way, especially the Magazine. I was even able to analyze some of my PHP code for work, and it seems, I guess to me, somewhat impressive. But for me, since I am still in my learning state, my PHP code is still not solid, and there are alot of inconsitencies in the quotes, for example where the opening and closing squiggly brackets are. But that shouldn't be so hard to deal with. Overall the code base is moving along, somewhat slowly though, so yeah. I don't really know where I rank with the pros or what not, maybe I should release some of my code? Don't know. Would be a bit embarrasing for me actually, its like revealing your naked truth
. Also what comes with it would be alot of criticism, which I really do not need at this time. One day in the future I'll do it, just not so soon.
For those of you who havent noticed, I also put up a page on all the computers in my house. I never realized that there was so many just lying around. Also there is the collection of harddrives that I have been collecting for at least a year. If you have any of those to donate to me, please drop me an email.
On another note, the Malaysian Ringitt has been unpegged from the US Dollar. What does this exactly mean, how does it effect me? I have no freaking idea, maybe you can fill me in on the exact details. Please, consider it a birthday wish.
