So after three long years, the sequel is finally released. Spider Man 3, must be on alot of peoples lists to watch, and it was on mine. I enjoyed Spider Man 2 alot actually, but Spider Man 3 couldn’t live up to it, and only left an “okay” impression.
I watched the movie with my little sister, and when purchasing the tickets, the cashier saw my sister and instantly knew, “You are here for Spider Man aren’t you?“.
Note: Spoilers ahead.
When Stan Lee’s cameo went up on screen, I wonder how many people recognized him.
I bet everyone who knows Spider Man, knows Venom. The arch nemesis of Spider Man. Everyone was waiting for this. The show off between Spider Man and Venom. Sadly they disappointed me.
Venom was never displayed in the trailers or anything, so in that sense they sparked my curiosity on how venom would be depicted. Yes they showed black spidey, but I want to see Eddie Brock as Venom! Once I found out how he looked, it was very disappointing.
I found the CG for venom’s face was terribly disappointing, and looked really cheap. It simply does not carry the same terror as it does in the comic book. When Venom talked, it just looked damn weird.
Similarly I was under the impression that Venom also had a much bigger build than Spider Man.
Similarly Venom’s screentime on the movie was rather damn short. This is it. This is what everyone wanted to see. The big fight off. But it wasn’t so big!
We wanted Venom, and you let us down.
When the bomb exploded near Harry’s face, I swore he would die. I guess I was wrong. He only had ‘minor’ scarring issues. So at the end of the movie when Eddie Brock goes to catch the bomb, how come he simply disintegrated fully. No remains, nothing. Perhaps Harry’s enhanced super body saved him. But damn weird.
Thank goodness there was not as many American flags in this movie as in its predecessor (where it was in almost every scene). Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it was really overkill!
Well enough about the action, how about the story?
I feel it was rushed mid way through, as there is too much going on. Three villians. Goblin, Sandman, Venom. Plus they try to include the love story inside, it was just too much.
When Spider Man first encounters the symbiote and gets his new black suit. It was all a rush. This is one of the climax’s in the movie, and storyline! All of a sudden spider-man is swinging in his black suit, taking down bad guys, then quickly sends a sample of the symbiote to the lab for research, and then …
It was just so bloody fast.
What was great about Spider Man 2, was that you could see the rise and fall of the hero. From the highest point to the lowest. Similarly it was a moral lesson on “doing the right thing”. They did a good job, or maybe that is what I wanted?
Did Peter Parker really fall in Spider Man 3? No, it felt like he was more ‘confused’. As he seemed to be somewhat enjoying life even in his darkest hours. (going around hitting chicks, and getting the job).
Remove Sandman, remove Goblin. Just give us Venom and a love story. 2 hours, 30 minutes. I bet it would have been much better.
Oh yeah, Kristen Dunst looks hotter in this movie.

… tonight we dine in Hell!
Those were the words that captivated me from the trailer.
To me 300 was a great movie. Though it might be considered a very simplistic, “for blood and glory” movie, I believe it was done really well. Plus the cinematography was absolutely breath taking.
The fight scenes were brilliant, probably the best I have ever seen. Yes they were gruesome also, but some of the unbelievable. I can’t even imagine how they were able to pull them off. Must watch a “Behind the Scenes” special or something.
The way the people moved really looked like they were part of a superior army. Always in shape and form, ready to strike, kill, and defend. Spoiler: Except for one scene, where the guy didn’t watch his back. Not a good move in times of war.
I wonder how long it took to cast so many buff men. Though they were virtually completely naked, their 6 (or
pack looked like it was strong enough to deflect any blow. They resembled to me an ancient day superman.
Have a spear thrusting straight towards their chest, and it looks like the spear would just split in two. Just look at that! You can wash your clothes on them.
Usually you need some sort of armor..Their armor, was their 6/8 pack!
I can see it now, an arrow renting through the sky aiming for the stomach, and then.. toingggg, it bounces off. Sadly this is a realistic movie, so none of that actually happened :P. Thought it did look like it would! Honestly!

Even without much clothes they look absolutely kick ass. Usually you need some sort of armor to even remotely look cool. These guys didn’t need that. Especially when they lunged at their enemies, in all manners of form!
I wonder how many people would be interested in ancient history now.
Now I want a red crimson cloak that I can parade around in. Perhaps minus the bloomers.
Would have also been interesting if they did a ‘kill count‘ sort of thing. Just for humor sakes, say after the first battle. Put on the screen:
Round 1: Spartan: 1000+, Persians: 0
Would have been funny :).
Of course by the end it would have been:
Round ?: Spartan: (Spoiler), Persians: Too many to count.
I definitely recommend watching this movie! The best part about this movie! It was hardly censored at all :3!
Disclaimer:
No I am not gay. Just watch this movie for yourself and you’ll realize that it looks damn cool :).
My friend said he was going to watch a movie (Bridge to Terabithia), and I stupidly decided to tag along. The poster for the movie looked interesting. Looked somewhat CG, and almost like an adventure movie.
But you know what they say, don’t judge a book by its cover.
Warning: Spoilers ahead
Though it shouldn’t be a problem reading this, as I didn’t find the movie too good, and wouldn’t recommend you watching it anyways.
I was not in the mood for an emo movie. This movie was definetly that, targeted for the young viewers, I should have expected that as it was the same producer for The Chronicles of Narnia: Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. So to me it was very meh.
Initial thoughts was that it was going to be inside a fantasy world. It took a long while, but finally it came to the scene where the two main characters would enter the enchanted world, by swinging across a stream and jumping into the bushes. Finally, or so I thought. But they didn’t enter an magical world at all.
It was all in their heads. They just imagined it. As the two main characters were neighbors I started wondering if their water supply was effected in any way what so ever. It would certainly explain their delusional state.
Sure I shouldn’t be criticizing kids for imagining a fantasy world, hell even I did it when I was young. Spent a lot of time pretending this and that, day dreaming through most of my school life.
But I’m sorry, it didn’t work in the movie. It was corny, and I mean REALLY corny. Especially with the enemy being large rabid squirrels, bearing armor.

There was interesting character that I found in the film. Heck if I imagined this character when I was a child I would be scared. Its one freaky looking character. And BTW, it plays on role at all. Just a background character, at the very end of the film.
The end of the film came out of nowhere, and all of a sudden BANG, it just ENDED right there! Not much of a plot, no moral story, no climax, nothing.
Hell the poster had a dark atmosphere to it, which the movie never even came close to. A very happy go lucky movie.
Well it was based on a novel, maybe the novel is better (as it always tends to be).
Wow, there you have it, a lot of bad things to say about it. It could also just be that I was just in a bad mood before watching the film. Though my friends would agree that it wasn’t good either.
Definitely not for me, maybe the younger age group (12 and below).
Going to go watch 300 next week. Now THAT should be good. Or at least the action should keep me entertained.
