Dear Feed Readers

May 21st, 2007 by aizatto

Dear Feed Readers,

I have consolidated my 3 blogs (blog, dev, rails) into 1 feed for easy reading of my various topics. By doing this I am using the original link for my personal blog (strange symphonies). So if you continue to use this feed, you’ll be getting all 3 of my blogs.

If you want to use them separately please use the following links:

Updated aizatto.com

I’ve updated aizatto.com

Then:
aizatto.com - old

Now:
aizatto.com - new

Choose your libraries wisely

Opted out for Prototype and script.aculo.us (yes a Rails guy is doing this), and used jQuery and Nifty Corners Cube.

Main reason? Prototype is getting fat. Also it didn’t even give rounded corners.

For more details see my post on developer.

Wordpress 2.1 and Migration to Wordpress Multi-User

January 27th, 2007 by aizatto

As most of you know, Wordpress 2.1, to much fanfare, has just been released. This is the application I use to manage this and several other blogs of mine. Its quite popular amongst the blogging folk.

Though I didn’t expect much, or want much, the most important feature for me was the ability to export my blog. With this I can start utilizing Wordpress Multi-User (WPMU). The most important difference is that I can utilize WPMU to easily manage my several other blogs.

All I had to do was upgrade my previous blogs to version 2.1, export the file, and import. Well at least it sounded easy. Along the way I ran into..several problems.

The biggest one being, during import my categories are screwed up. Sure I could have waited until it worked, but that would mean waiting, which I didn’t want to do. I wanted to move my stuff, NOW. Similarly I’ll just move my posts to the other blogs, and make this site more casual.

So here it is, my new blog running on Wordpress MU. A few things still aren’t working properly but I’ll fix them, within time

Luckily I backed up everything, so if need I could just go back, but I think I’ll leave it as it is. :)
