Movie Review: 300

300

… tonight we dine in Hell!

Those were the words that captivated me from the trailer.

To me 300 was a great movie. Though it might be considered a very simplistic, “for blood and glory” movie, I believe it was done really well. Plus the cinematography was absolutely breath taking.

The fight scenes were brilliant, probably the best I have ever seen. Yes they were gruesome also, but some of the unbelievable. I can’t even imagine how they were able to pull them off. Must watch a “Behind the Scenes” special or something.

The way the people moved really looked like they were part of a superior army. Always in shape and form, ready to strike, kill, and defend. Spoiler: Except for one scene, where the guy didn’t watch his back. Not a good move in times of war.

I wonder how long it took to cast so many buff men. Though they were virtually completely naked, their 6 (or 8) pack looked like it was strong enough to deflect any blow. They resembled to me an ancient day superman.

Have a spear thrusting straight towards their chest, and it looks like the spear would just split in two. Just look at that! You can wash your clothes on them.

Usually you need some sort of armor..Their armor, was their 6/8 pack!

I can see it now, an arrow renting through the sky aiming for the stomach, and then.. toingggg, it bounces off. Sadly this is a realistic movie, so none of that actually happened :P. Thought it did look like it would! Honestly!

300 - The man with the 8 pack
Even without much clothes they look absolutely kick ass. Usually you need some sort of armor to even remotely look cool. These guys didn’t need that. Especially when they lunged at their enemies, in all manners of form!

I wonder how many people would be interested in ancient history now.
Now I want a red crimson cloak that I can parade around in. Perhaps minus the bloomers.
Would have also been interesting if they did a ‘kill count‘ sort of thing. Just for humor sakes, say after the first battle. Put on the screen:

Round 1: Spartan: 1000+, Persians: 0

Would have been funny :).

Of course by the end it would have been:

Round ?: Spartan: (Spoiler), Persians: Too many to count.

I definitely recommend watching this movie! The best part about this movie! It was hardly censored at all :3!

Disclaimer:

No I am not gay. Just watch this movie for yourself and you’ll realize that it looks damn cool :).

I watched “Troy” in 2005, which was a story about a war between spartas and trojans. Something similar to the movie you watched this time.

I wasn’t really interested in ancient history before, but after watching Troy, I went straight to bookstore to get Iliad for original story. The movie was that good. Well, unfortunately I couldn’t finish the book though :( It was a tough book to read)

Anyway, I loved the scenes of battle in Troy. Man it was definitely one of the best movie I’ve seen in my life. And like you said, those buff guys really got me. Brad Pitt as Achilles was splendid. If you haven’t seen Troy yet, I recommend you take an eye on it. You’ll love it.

So yeah, by reading your entry, 300 seems to be a movie that I cannot miss. Though I have to wait until this summer :P
